Located near the Mackinaw River in Woodford County,
Illinois, Acorn Ridge is the
home to corn fed and mineral springs nourished bucks. Alfalfa fields are
a grazing ground
for numerous whitetails each twilight. Add to that a strongly enforced
buck management
program for the last five years, and our bucks are fine trophies. Our
goal is to provide an excellent hunt to a limited number of hunters. Groups
of 3 or more enjoy exclusive use of Acorn Ridge.

TYPICAL ACORN RIDGE HUNT
- Arrive
and tour the property prior to your hunt.
- Select
a tree for your stand,
or choose one of ours.
- Dine
at one of many area restaurants.
- Spend
the night in our rustic cabin. Listen for the coyotes!
- Hunter
brings own sleeping bag and pillow, other linens are provided.
- Rise
to the fragrance of coffee and breakfast cooking compliments of
your camp chef.
- Watch
for monster bucks. Enjoy a day in the deer stand!

Acorn Ridge Successes! |
 This
hunt is not guaranteed.- Acorn
Ridge is a smoke free environment.
- No
alcoholic beverages.
- Bucks
must be 8 points or larger (unless they score 130 or better Pope
& Young class).
- Hunters
must obtain their own tags and licenses. Contact the DNR at 217-782-7305
or online at the Illinois
State DNR website.
- Stand
hunting only, no stalking or walking
hunts - hunters must stay in their tree stand.
- Hunters
must bring and wear safety belt
at
all
times
in their own stand or ours.
- Hunters
will sign a hold harmless agreement upon arrival for the safety
belt and other rules.
- Approximately
300 acres private land.
